What does being of service mean to YOU?
Read on for more on the heart chakra, to remember our connection to all, some unexpected inspiration and hope from the new UK Government, ways to connect with your own heart centre and an invitation
Listening to Keir Starmer’s speech while welling up with hope rather than despair (for the first time in my life when listening to a UK PM) made me think more about being of service ourselves.
Aiming to be of service is an energy that transforms everything
I remember my early years in business (it’ll be 20 years in September!)
Whenever I worried about money, stressed about not having enough clients (I started out coaching and added therapies and supervision along the way while starting out as a freelance journalist with no contacts at the same time), my energy contracted.
Each time I remembered to move into that more expansive energy of wanting to be of service, I’d get a delightful new client.
Every time.
It took me years (well over a decade) to harness this enough to the point I’ve been enjoying in recent years (with my private practice generally being at constantly at capacity and filled with delightful clients and supervisees).
Starmer’s speech (you can watch the whole thing HERE – fast forward to the actual speech about 30 minutes in), while talking about how ‘politics can be a force for good’ and promising to ‘restoring service and respect to politics’ reminded me of this.
While his beautifully pitched speech, promising to do right by those who didn’t vote for him as well for his supporters, is obviously a far cry from what most of us do for a living.
But the service element fits beautifully with the heart chakra work we’re doing as we continue the Love your WHOLE self chakra journey in the Embodied with Evei online community
Whatever kind of work you do, paid or not, focusing on service shifts everything. It expands and inspires
At the time of writing this, I’m utterly delighted to be going into this evening’s Circle with a full heart: Compassion is being centred in politics in the UK for the first time in my lifetime.
As I reflected on Starmer’s message about being of service, I decided to cut back and really focus on these Circles as a grounding point each month.
I’ll still share these weekly posts on Self Care Saturdays but the actual recordings will be focused mostly around the Circles for those who couldn’t make them.
The monthly Circles and everything I offer at Embodied with Evei (including The Feel Better Every Day Podcast) are designed to help you hold space for yourself.
I know I’ve shared an enormous amount in terms of resources (all available in the Exclusive Membership Area for Full Moon and Super Moon members) and I also know this can sometimes feel overwhelming.
I fear I’ve done a disservice in some ways in offering so much for so long so am really encouraging daily yoga nidras with more repetition.
I know, I know. You might be thinking, ‘Daily? Really?’ But they’re pretty short – usually around 20 minutes.
And yoga nidras are SUCH a wonderful practice for not only moving more quickly and easily towards your intentions but for lowering blood pressure, increasing focus, concentration and boosting mood. And for supporting deep non-sleep rest which creates conditions within your body for rest, recharge, recovery and potential healing.
The more we familiarise ourselves with each one, the more deeply we can relax into them and the easier it becomes to harness that unconscious mind and take action on our intentions, our Sankalpas.
Full Moon (paid subscribers) and Super Moon (founding members) will continue to receive recordings of the non-confidential elements of the Circles
This week’s includes:
· A simple and effective ritual to help you clear old, inauthentic energies and welcome the new energy of this lunar phases, supporting your intentions
· a unique yoga nidra focusing on being of service with an open heart while also keeping your heart open to yourself and not giving TOO much
· some delicious Metta (sending Loving Kindness) and
· Ho’oponopono (more energy clearing as we connect with the world with our whole hearts and selves)
Easier access to private support from me
While the Chat and Comments used to be a membership benefit for Full and Super Moon members, am changing this so Half Moon members (free subscribers) can ask for additional support / comment etc in the Chat as well as comments.
Full and Super Moon members can of course still use these functions but instead of focusing on the reflective feedback forms I’ve been using for private input and grounding, you’re now welcome to EMAIL me (eve@selfcarecoaching.net) with any questions and comments you might feel more hesitant about sharing in the wider Embodied with Evei community.
I hope this helps and always welcome your feedback!
What about you? How can you connect more with your heart centre today and amp up the self compassion, compassion to others and energy of service?
I’m conscious that not all of you will share my relief re the UK election results. We’re also STILL facing so many global issues, oppressive regimes and climate catastrophe (cheerful soul, aren’t I?) and this is why I so depend on the practices I’m sharing in this evening’s (last night’s by the time you read this) Circle.
Metta and Ho’oponopono help me turn angst and fear and dread into harnessing the hearts electromagnetic field and sending LOVE and COMPASSION to individuals and groups I worry about.
Whether you’re familiar with these practices or not (you can access more information through my site’s search function) you might even simply choose to send love in whatever direction those worrisome thoughts and ruminations pop up in.
The Embodied with Evei online community, formerly known as Embodied Wellbeing is still encouraging you to do the things that support your mental, physical, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Helping you to Feel Better Every Day
But more than that, it’s a trauma sensitive space to support you in welcoming ALL the feelings. Building your capacity, tolerance and enjoyment of becoming more embodied by letting whatever is coming up for healing HEAL.
Join us for the next Circle on Friday, 2nd August – Opening your heart to your whole self, all your parts and all your talents – All welcome!
To join, simply RSVP with Circle in the subject line to eve@selfcarecoaching.net and you’ll be added to the list and get the Zoom link.
One of the ways in which we work with the moon is through monthly online Circles each Dark New Moon (a wonderful time to set intentions for the month ahead and beyond).
The next one, at 7pm on Friday 2nd August, will not only benefit from the Dark New Moon energies we enjoy each month but Lughnasadh. Harvest. Honouring our whole selves and taking inspiration from the Irish God, Lugh: Eventually welcomed to Tara as his whole self: poet, warrior, craftsman, writer and so much more. An original multi-passionate!
We’ll also be grounding the heart chakra work we’re continuing with the Love your WHOLE self chakra journey.
What do these Circles involve?
The first part of these Circles are free and open to all (simply RSVP by emailing eve@selfcarecoahcing.net to be added to the list and receive the Zoom link).
This is your time and space to reflect, explore and ground your intentions. You’ll also have the opportunity to release any inauthentic energies that might otherwise block you.
To connect with your Self (that highest, wisest, truest, wildest, most joyful, brilliant and miraculous part of yourself) and set your space, energy and intentions for the month ahead.
After this initial 45 minute Circle, Full Moon (paid subscribers) and Super Moon members of the Embodied with Evei community can stay on for a deeper dive into the theme.
This then informs the new, unique yoga nidra and additional mind body practices (such as EFT Tap Alongs, yoga breath practices and poses and more mind body practices from my book, 365 Ways to Feel Better: Self-care Ideas for Embodied Wellbeing (Pen & Sword, 2017) and wider practice).
If you haven’t already watched/listened, Fiona Morris is the latest guest on The Feel Better Every Day Podcast and I am confident you’ll feel your own heart centre expand as you listen to her wisdom around her ideal and actual Self and self care practices during an especially challenging season in her life.
