Embodied wellbeing is something I’ve been working with (and ON. Progress not perfection!) for decades
Too many of us are conditioned to ignore and even deny the body’s inherent wisdom.
Ignore the guidance our nervous systems have to offer.
I work with mind, body, heart and soul with my trauma informed therapies, Self care coaching (for that highest, wisest, truest, wildest, most joyful, brilliant and miraculous part of yourself as well as more everyday self care), supervision, the Embodied Wellbeing community and more
The more embodied we are, the easier it is to connect with all our resources. To move through life in a more relaxed, flowing and pleasurable way
A simple self care practice to help you feel more grounded, embodied and resourceful
Without consciously thinking about it too much, get an image of yourself feeling completely at ease, relaxed, well, comfortable and happy in your own skin.
You might immediately remember something that makes you feel delicious just thinking about it (a wonderful resource to go back to in times of stress).
Your immediate thought may no longer work because of a loss associated with the memory.
You might even struggle to think of ANY moment in time when you felt completely at ease and well - when I first did this, I imagined myself floating face down (in a relaxed way) in the middle of the ocean. Over time, I built on this resource and now have dozens I can draw on in any given moment.
If you’re struggling to think of a memory (like I did at first), use that wonderful imagination of yourself to help yourself feel better - IMAGINE a situation where you might feel completely whole, at ease and peace, relaxed and happy no matter how outlandish it may seem.
Have you got something uncomplicated that immediately feels good to think about?
How do you feel, right now, as you even think about this resourceful moment you’re remembering or imagining?
What are you aware of in your body as you connect with this moment by simply thinking about it? What feelings are coming up for you?
This is a simple way to begin to experience embodied wellbeing but there are so so SO many more
Drawing on the book, 365 Ways to Feel Better: Self-care Ideas for Embodied Wellbeing and my decades of experience and expertise in supervision, trauma recovery, stress and anxiety reduction, sleep issues and more as well as psychosynthesis counselling, yoga (breathwork, poses and philosophy), NLP, EFT, crystals, coaching and more, there are hundreds and hundreds of free meditations, yoga nidras and mind body practices online via my site, blog and social media platforms
I hope you enjoy and benefit from as many as you choose to practice and indulge in.
For additional guidance, joining the Embodied Wellbeing Community by subscribing gives you immediate access to themed weekly newsletters designed to support you as you learn to befriend your mind, body, heart and soul and love your WHOLE self.
As a free member, you’ll receive:
A newsletter every Sunday morning supporting you as you learn to make peace with and potentially heal and transform your whole life. You’ll also receive some additional bonus content.
As well as exploring each week’s theme with opportunities to experience different mind-body practices, you’ll get embodied journal prompts. I’m a writer. I LOVE writing in my journal each night and often during the day. Sometimes, though, to go deeper, recording ourselves either by video or audio then playing it back offers all kinds of deeper insights. We get to observe or hear our tone of voice, posture, what lights us up, what drains us.
You’ll also be able to use the Substack Comments and Chat for certain posts.
This is completely free via evemc.substack.com and elements of it are free at a later date via the blog so you don’t even have to sign up for free to enjoy elements.
I’d love it if you share what resonates with your loved ones to help as many people benefit as possible.
Upgrading to a paid subscription and becoming a full member of the Embodied Wellbeing community can reduce overwhelm even further
From as little as €1.54 per week (€8 per month or €80 per year), you’ll receive a curated email each Sunday offering a few options each week including exclusive new recordings and self care coaching ideas designed to enhance the week’s theme.
These include:
the opportunity to connect privately if you want accountability without posting everything in the Chat or Comments through Reflective Feedback
a unique yoga nidra each week
other mind body practices including EFT Tap Alongs and meditations, crystal cleanses, yoga poses, breath practices, self care coaching and more
immediate access to the rich archive so while you can join the Love your WHOLE self journey at any time, you can also go back to elements from before you joined
oracle card readings around lunar phases and the Celtic Wheel of the Year and
more
There’s no falling behind with this self paced self care
Honour your own energy levels, enthusiasm levels, time and space available (if money’s an issue, let me know as I can offer you a complementary membership) and the ebbs and flows in your own life. Some weeks you may opt for all the offerings, others just one or two.
You know yourself best.
Let me know if you have any questions and enjoy whichever resources resonate most for you.
with love,
I immediately thought of floating in the ocean too! Specifically, the first time I did it in the nip (briefly) last year in Mallorca.
